The ASCP Geriatric Pharmacist Boot Camp is a two-day workshop with advanced training to help pharmacists prepare for the board certification examination and to offer recertification credits to board certified geriatric pharmacists (BCGPs).

Based on the Commission for Certification in Geriatric Pharmacy (CCGP) Content Outline (PDF), the course allows participants to help prepare for the 2017 exam or to refresh geriatric principles by working through practice skills and clinical case topics with other pharmacists and our subject matter experts. Attendees have the option to purchase the Flex Plan*—recordings from both days—for $99. As a special offer, all registrants will receive a coupon to purchase the 90-day subscription of the BCGP Self-Assessment Exam for $20 USD (normally $89).

*Flex Plan recordings will be released late October 2017. These recordings do not include additional CPE or BCGP credits to Boot Camp attendees.

Starting in 2018, the exam will have the following changes:

  • New content outline
  • Increased number of questions from 150 to 175
  • Increased number of multiple choice options from 3 to 4

Board certification demonstrates superior knowledge and expertise beyond a licensed pharmacist.

Certification credentials may be useful in qualifying for a promotion with a current employer or in obtaining a job with a new employer.

Boot Camp IconEvent FAQs

To receive continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit, participants must attend the workshop in its entirety, complete the post-tests with a grade of 70% or better, and submit evaluations on the ASCP Learning Center within 45 days of the activity (by November 6, 2017).
All attendees are required to take the post-test for each activity. Those seeking BCGP recertification credit have ONE attempt per post-test to achieve a 70% or higher score. Those seeking only continuing pharmacy education will have two attempts. No partial credit can be given.
You must complete the evaluation to receive credit. ASCP reports CPE attainment to ACPE and NABP via the CPE Monitor system. The course should be posted within 24-48 hours of evaluation completion. If you are a U.S. pharmacist, it is the responsibility of the participant to provide their correct date of birth (MMDD format) and NABP e-Profile ID on their ASCP profile.
